An honest read on what condition your roof is in, with a detailed estimate if work is needed.
36 years in the roofing trade

A roof inspection answers the question every homeowner eventually asks: is my roof okay, or is it about to cost me money? It gives you a clear explanation of the roof's condition before you spend anything on repair or replacement. Our approach is simple: explain what is going on in plain language, and put anything we recommend into a detailed estimate.
Missouri roofs get inspected for a handful of reasons: a storm went through and you want to know if anything was damaged, the house is being bought or sold, an insurance company wants documentation, or a roof is older and you want to plan. The inspection finds out whether the roof has years left or whether a decision is coming.
The best inspections are specific. Not "your roof looks old," but which slopes are worn, where flashing is lifting, whether the deck is solid and what each recommended job would involve and cost. That is what we give you.
We look at the roof from the ground first, noting rooflines, slopes, gutters and anything visibly wrong.
We check the shingles or panels, the edges, the valleys and every penetration, noting wear and damage.
Flashing at chimneys, vents and walls, and the gutters and downspouts that move water away, get a careful look.
If the attic is accessible, we look for daylight, staining, damp insulation or ventilation problems.
You get a plain-language explanation of what we found and, if work is needed, a detailed estimate.
If the inspection turns up work, the estimate depends on these things:
The honest evaluation is the main thing we offer. Otto's approach to a roof is to tell you the condition and explain it, without pushing a replacement on a roof that does not need one.
If you are weighing a repair against replacement, or comparing another company's quote, a second set of eyes with 36 years of experience is worth having.
We inspect roofs in Pierce City and across the area. See our Pierce City roofing page and Springfield roofing page.
We look at the roof surface for wear, damage and lifted or missing material, check the flashing at chimneys, vents, valleys and walls, look at the gutters and roof edges and, when it is accessible, look at the attic for moisture, daylight and staining.
We give you a free quote and a clear explanation of the roof's condition. If work is needed, you get a detailed estimate that spells out what it covers, so you know what you are agreeing to.
After any major hail or wind storm, before buying or selling a house, and when a roof is getting on in years. A look in spring, after winter and before storm season, catches problems while they are small.
Not always. Much of a roof inspection happens outside, but it helps if someone can give access to the attic and point out where you have seen leaks or stains.
Then you have good news and a baseline. We will tell you that, and what to watch for as the roof ages, without inventing work.
